Rody’s Cotabato visit scouts hurt in grenade attack

An advance party of President Rodrigo Duterte for his visit to Cotabato City today, Monday, came under grenade attack on Sunday, injuring eight Philippine Army soldiers and four civilians.

The grenade was thrown into a military vehicle that was part of the advance party, Western Mindanao Command spokesman Maj. Arvin John Encinas has confirmed.

The attack reportedly perpetrated by teenage suspects happened along Quezon Avenue in the area of Sinsuat in Cotabato City around 6 p.m.

Encinas said the injured soldiers were from a Division Reconnaissance Company deployed to secure the President’s visit.
