PBA: Bolts forge do-or-die

Meralco got a new lease in life on Saturday night as it whipped TNT KaTropa, 95-83 in Game 4 of their best-of-five semifinals in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Allen Durham led the Bolts with 36 points, 15 rebounds and five assists while Baser Amer scored 10 of his 12 points in a solid fourth quarter run to tie their semis series 2-2 and will settle the rubber match on Monday with the winner facing Barangay Ginebra in the title series.

Chris Newsome contributed 10 points and nine rebounds for Meralco.

The Bolts were down early in the first quarter before capping an explosive 25-9 run that put them in the driver’s seat, 51-45 at halftime.

Talk N Text tried to get back in the game and trimmed the gap to only two, 71-73 to start the payoff period, but Amer scored five straight points to give Meralco the cushion it need to seal the win.

KJ McDaniels led TNT with 26 points while Troy Rosario added 15 points.
