Tagum donates motorcycles, radio equipment

With recent threats to peace and order in the city, the local government unit of Tagum has donated motorcycles and handheld radios to the Tagum City Police as an added boost for public security.

Five Yamaha motorcycles and 20 handheld radios were handed out to the city’s police force to aid in its faster communication and response to any type of incident last 10 December at the Tagum City Police Station and Training Complex.

At the same time, a total of more than P500 thousand worth of police gear was also turned over as a means to further extend the police force coverage to far-flung barangays of Tagum.

The donations were aimed to guarantee that the city government is one with the Tagum PNP in doing its best in ensuring the safety and security of everyone as anchored on the mission of the police “to serve and protect the community.”

PLt. Col. Ariel Acala, the Tagum Chief of Police, received the donation from Mayor Allan Rellon which was a manifestation of the city government’s putting premium to genuine peace, safety and security as part of its developmental agenda.

Rellon also instructed the police to heighten their patrolling as he takes the recently circulating threats to public security seriously.
