Bulacan cops net 13 crime suspects

MALOLOS, Bulacan – Thirteen drug suspects were arrested in various entrapment operations in the province on Thursday.

Acting Provincial Director PCol. Emma Libunao said four people arrested in Bocaue and Malolos were identified as Jerome Domingo y Mirabite alias Basa, 21 years old; Mervin Mallari y Capinig alias Benz/ Balugbog, 36; Mauro Cabañas Jr. y Balderian, 24; and Jon Jon Martinez y Leonardo, 31.

The police confiscated from the suspects 10 plastic sachets of suspected shabu and the buy-bust money used.

Meanwhile, a manhunt of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) in Barangay Mojon here led to the arrest of 49-year-old Lilibeth Estrada who is in the province’s wanted list for violating the bouncing check law.

Santa Maria Police arrested five suspects of illegal firecracker manufacture. The suspects were identified as Tommy Martillano y Alcantara, 41 years old; Ramcis Villacista y Paasa, 26; Rommel Sotelo y Villacista, 30; Recto Bernardino y Villedo, 41; and Christopher Dagasdas y Goder, 36.

The suspects were arrested after a concerned citizen tipped the clandestine factory in Guballa St., Barangay Pulong Buhangin in the said town. Ronnie Barioga, a resident of Barangay Partida in Norzagaray, allegedly owns the manufacturing site.

Confiscated from the suspects were five sacks of boom boom or head of kwitis, half sacks of kwitis without stick, one and a half sacks of five star, 5 kilos of mitsa, 3 pieces of barena and 5 bundles of big kwitis.

In Plaridel, an extortionist was apprehended. The suspect, 23-year-old Jorenz Manuel Tan, reportedly threatened a 16-year-old girl he will upload their conversation on social media if she does not give P10,000. The victim reported the extortion plot to her cousin and sought police assistance resulting in the arrest of Tan.

Hagonoy and Baliwag Police responded to separate crime incidents that resulted to the arrest of two suspects. Jose Marie Guevarra y Satiago, 31, was arrested in Brgy. Sagrada, Hagonoy for qualified theft while Norman Sotelo y Almario, 18, was arrested in Brgy. Pagala, Baliwag, for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the Anti-Carnapping Law.

Charges against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for their prosecution.
