TDT · Dec 18, 2019, 3:00 AM

Clients may top up their investment for as low as P10,000 or $500.

BPI Asset Management and Trust Corp. (AMTC) is making investing in US stocks easier with its newest unit investment trust fund (UITF), the BPI Invest US Equity Index Feeder Fund Peso Class.

Without opening a US dollar account or having to exchange local currency to US dollars, clients can invest in the US market through this new fund simply through their peso accounts.

“We believe US equities offer upside potential given the strength of the underlying economy. The US economy is expected to grow 2.3 percent in 2019,” BPI AMTC president Sheila Tan said.

“Investing in both local and global markets allow investors to derive returns from other markets and experience less volatility in their overall portfolio.”

The new fund allows clients to take advantage of a diversified portfolio of US stocks which belong in the Standard and Poor’s 500 Index, one of the major US stock indices that cover most, if not all sectors of the US market and is widely regarded as the best gauge of large-cap US equities.

It is a market-capitalization-weighted index of the 500 largest US publicly traded companies including Apple Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Amazon.com Inc., Facebook Inc.

The fund is suitable for investors with an aggressive risk profile and awareness of the risks involved in investing in the US equities market.

The BPI Invest US Equity Index Feeder Fund, in both Philippine peso and US dollar classes, is available in all BPI branches or through BPI Online for a minimum investment of P50,000 or $1,000. Clients may top up their investment for as low as P10,000 or $500.

Investments made until 29 February 2020, may qualify for the Investment Real Thrills promo where investors can win up to P100,000 weekly.
