Early Christmas for Tacloban City employees

Employees of the city government of Tacloban are expected to receive their Christmas bonus next week just in time for the holiday season, the city information office (CIO) said.

In a statement, the CIO said the city government of Tacloban has allotted P34.5 million pesos for additional Christmas bonus of its over 2,000 regular, casual and job order employees.

Regular employees will receive P35,000 each — P25,000 will come from the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) while the P10,000 will be the Service Recognition Incentive that was approved by Malacanang.

Casual employees, on the other hand, will receive P10,000 each while job order workers will receive P6,000.

Elected city officials will likewise receive an undisclosed bonus while the more than 1,240 barangay officials will be given a P2,000 cash gift.

The funds for the bonuses will be taken out of the savings from the city’s Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).
