Senate opens Malasakit Center

A Malasakit Center can now also be found in the Senate after Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go inaugurated Monday an outlet of the one-stop shop for getting financial assistance for medical treatment.

Go unveiled the Senate Malasakit Center during the inauguration of its renovated Public Assistance Center located near the main entrance gate.

Senate President Vicente Sotto, Minority Leader Franklin Drilon and Senator Cynthia A. Villar joined in the opening of the two centers.

Go is the brainchild of the Malasakit Centers which can also be found in 53 public hospitals across the country.

He also authored the law that establishes the center in all public hospitals in the country to make the application for medical subsidy from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation convenient and at lesser cost to patients.
