Phl takes silver in canoe singles

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—The Philippines added another silver medal to its tally courtesy of Hermie Macaranas in the canoe singles’ 1000-meter men’s event at the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the Malawaan Park here on Friday.

Macaranas finished in 4:21.67 behind Thailand’s Mahawattanangkul Pitpiboon who clinched the gold with a time of 4:19.94.

Indonesia’s Marjuki Marjuki completed the podium finishers in 4:24.21.
