Men’s team secures another beach volley bronze

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—The Philippine men’s beach volleyball team snared a bronze medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games here on Friday, hours after a similar feat by the women’s squad.

Singapore’s Kingsley Tai and Fan Yang Shen stopped the Philippines’ James Buytrago and Jaron Requinton, 20-22, 22-20, 15-7, in the first match.

The second match had the second Phl duo of Edmar Bonono and Jude Garcia leveling with a 21-14, 21-14 triumph over Nicholas Kiu and Ray Meng Trevis Tan.

Requinton and Garcia teamed up in the tiebreaker and beat Tai and Tan, 25-23, 21-13, for the bronze medal.
