Who’s afraid of the czarina’s report?

Only the President, they said, had the list of the dangerous drug lords operating not only in the country, but, at the very least in the Asean, if not in the USA and Europe.

Vice President — for now — Leni Robredo said she will be delaying the release of her report on the government’s anti-illegal drugs, based on the information she claimed to have gathered during her 19-day stint as co-chair of the anti-drug panel.

This she vowed to do after 11 December, the scheduled conclusion of the Philippines’ hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Are Filipinos supposed to get chills from the information contained in her report and even cause President Duterte and his administration world-wide embarrassment?

Or perhaps Leni is still waiting for her spokesman and staffers to come up with yet another exaggerated, if not fake information on the anti-drug war? It is, of course, to make Duterte lose his public support, after which Leni and her yellows probably believe that when this is done, it will be easy picking for them to get the President ousted. Oh yes, the presidential ouster is still on their minds.

It is almost certain that Robredo included in her “information” of her visit to the American Embassy, as well as to a United Nations agency in the country, and no doubt she as well as the UN want its investigators to come to the Philippines and “check out” the extrajudicial killings (EJK) to get Duterte charged before the International Criminal Court at the Hague. It is reason enough for Leni and her yellows to want Duterte ousted, as time may be running short for them, with presidential elections just a few years away, and these freaking yellows know that Leni — as its standard bearer — will go the way of the eight publicly and legally discarded by the voters during the 2019 senatorial polls.

Leni’s problem, however, is that neither she nor the yellows have a lot of credibility left, and worse after 19 days and two reports she said she had handed to Duterte, who had neither reacted or responded to her reports. About the only time he had reacted towards Leni’s moves was when she asked the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) for the list of the big drug lords, as if its release to her would solve the drug problem in the Philippines. More likely, Leni probably wanted a long peek at the list of the biggies in the drug trading/smuggling business to check whether a relative of hers, who is alleged to be on the drug lords list, has been included.

Robredo’s request for the list, which is only handled by the President that he considers a matter of national security issue, was of course, not taken lightly and this was denied her, with even the members of the ICAD all stating that they had never even seen this list that Leni wanted. One doesn’t hear too much of this abroad. Only the usual local and human rights groups appear to concentrate on the Philippines and Duterte, who are clearly allied with the yellows and their media outlets, from whom they get exaggerated reports and clearly false information on the claimed EJK, which numbers have been inflated from Day One.

So, what is Leni’s report going to contain? Her visits to the community-based rehabilitation centers for drug dependents and drug-infested communities, while calling on the public to help the government in clearing their places of the illegal drug trade? Her trips to the US drug agencies, that apparently provided the same information on the drug situation to her like they also provided the Philippine officials involved in the anti-drug trade war, as far as where the smuggled drugs come? And oh, the drug trade is alive and well in Asean and Mexico, among other countries.

Or perhaps, through Leni, these same agencies would have a crack at the list of the bigtime drug lords operating in the Philippines and elsewhere and not just in China, as facilely claimed by Leni during her first few days.

It was after these visits to the foreign agencies that she had started to demand from the heads and members of the ICAD the “secret” list of names of the big drug lords operating here and perhaps even from abroad.

The big problem with Leni’s request, is that even as she was appointed to a fictional co-chair of the ICAD, she just wasn’t trusted to do right by her job, as there can be no trust between a chief executive and his vice president who has his ouster still her, and her yellows’ prime goal.

Before her appointment as the drug czarina, she had already lobbed too many accusations against Duterte but without any evidence offered, nor even the names of the alleged victims of the claimed thousands of EJK victims.

Leni flubbed that initial trust granted her by Duterte. What she first did, as co-chair of the ICAD, after an initial meeting was to go to the US embassy and the UN to get them for her and her yellows to destroy the President.

So, who’s afraid of the ex-Drug Czarina’s report? No one, apparently.
