‘Tisoy’ to make landfall in Sorsogon

Typhoon “Tisoy” is currently bringing violent winds over Northern Samar, Catanduanes, Albay, Camarines Sur and Sorsogon as of the 8 p.m. weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Tisoy is expected to make landfall over Sorsogon before midnight or early Tuesday morning.

Until Tuesday morning, frequent to continuous heavy to intense rains will continue over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Southern Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon.

Frequent to continuous heavy rains will also prevail over Samar, Eastern Samar, Rizal, rest of Quezon, Laguna and Oriental Mindoro.

Also on Tuesday, moderate to intermittent heavy rains will be experienced in Metro Manila, Occidental Mindoro, rest of Calabarzon, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and the rest of Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, all terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will suspend operations from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Once flight operations resume, priority will be given to scheduled flights. Recovery flights will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.

For an orderly succession of flights, recovery flights must have prior approval from airport authorities.

Regular runway maintenance (1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.) are likewise suspended for three more days after resumption of flights to give way to recovery flights.

Airport general manager Ed Monreal advised affected passengers to coordinate with their airline carriers.
