‘Tisoy’ places Bicol, Samar under Signal No. 2

Typhoon “Tisoy” continued to move toward Bicol as of 11 p.m. Sunday with heavy rainfall expected in the region, Eastern Visayas and northern Cebu in the next two days.

Frequent to continuous heavy to intense rains will also prevail over southern Quezon and Marinduque while occasional heavy rains will be experienced in Northern Samar, Romblon, Batangas, Mindoro provinces and the rest of Quezon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Intermittent heavy rains, meanwhile, are forecast over the Samar provinces, Biliran, Leyte and the eastern portions of Cagayan and Isabela.

Intermittent to occasional heavy rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Pangasinan, Aklan, Capiz and northern Antique will likewise be felt through the rest of Tuesday and on to Wednesday morning.

Tisoy is forecast to make landfall over Catanduanes or Albay between Monday evening and Tuesday early morning.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 may be raised over Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan in the next bulletin at about 2 a.m.

The following are already under Signal No. 2: Southern Quezon (Tagkawayan, Calauag, Guinayangan, Lopez, Buenvista, Catanauan, Mulanay, San Narciso, San Andres and San Francisco), Masbate including Ticao and Burias islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay and Sorsogon in Luzon; and Northern and Eastern Samar, Samar and Biliran in the Visayas.
