‘Tisoy’ moves SEAG schedules

New Clark City – With the imminent arrival of typhoon ‘Tisoy’ in the country, the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) announced on Monday that some of the events in the 30th SEA Games will be rescheduled.

In a statement, the Phisgoc said that sports competitions – especially those which will be held in Subic – will have schedule changes but clarified that it is also pending the evaluation of weather situation.

The statement cited changes in schedule on beach volleyball, which will now be held on 4 to 6 December instead of the original 2 to 3 December schedule, while the canoe/kayak/rowing competitions will be held on 6 to 8 December.

For muay thai, it was moved to 4 to 5 December for the Mai-Waikru events while the combat competitions was moved to 6 to 8 December.

Sailing and windsurfing competitions were also cancelled and will resume on 5 December pending the evaluation of the weather situation while the Modern Pentathlon events was moved to the morning of 5 December.

Meantime, the following sports will proceed with their original competition schedule — Table Tennis, Sepak Takraw, Chess, Beach handball, Rowing, Open water Swim and Surfing.
