Operations in all terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will be suspended from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, 3 December, as precaution for the expected onslaught of Typhoon Tisoy, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has announced.

“Once flight operations resume, priority will be given to scheduled flights. Recovery flights will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis. For an orderly succession of flights, recovery flights must have prior approval from the MIAA authority,” MIAA said in a statement.

Regular runway maintenance (1:30 a.n. to 3:30 a.m.) shall likewise be suspended for three more days after resumption of flights to give way to recovery flights, said the agency.

To ensure safety, MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal appealed to all air passengers to just stay in their homes and avoid going to the airports during the terminal closure.

Monreal also advised the affected passengers to closely coordinate with their airline carriers for information concerning with their flights.
