CCP brings art to countryside

BAGUIO CITY — The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) vows to be more aggressive in bringing its performances to the different parts of the archipelago and even in other parts of the world to further promote the appreciation of art.

CCP president Arsenio Lisazo that since people from the countryside could not always come to visit the Manila-based center to personally experience the different art exhibitions and shows, then it is the center’s duty and obligation to bring to the people their world-class art performances.

He added that the center is mandated to show people its advancements over the past five decades to bring art to the countryside as it is taxpayers’ money subsidizing its operations.

Lisazo, who accompanied the 85-member Philippine Harmonic Orchestra which performed during the launching of the “Enchanting Baguio Christmas” at the Rose Garden of the Burnham Park, encouraged those who could visit the CCP to make it a point to patronize their regular performances to love and appreciate the works of Filipino and foreign artists alike and for young and upcoming artists to find an avenue to discover their God-given talents.

The CCP was established to serve as a venue for the government to promote world-class art performances by award-winning performers and for the discovery of young and upcoming artists from the different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Baguio is offering another added attraction this Christmas season to delight residents and visitors alike through the European-influenced “Enchanting Baguio Christmas.”

These sites were designed by the city’s artists to provide new attractions to further enhance the city’s celebration of the Yuletide season and entice more people to consider Baguio City as a holiday destination for the Christmas and New Year breaks.
