Drowned PMA plebe a hazing victim?

The cadet’s mother said that all they are seeking is for justice to be served and those responsible for the death of his son be punished.

BAGUIO CITY — The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is going to investigate the recent issue that went viral on social media where letters said to have been written by 4th Class Cadet Mario Telan claimed that he was hazed inside the PMA.

Telan drowned to his death at the swimming pool inside the military school last 8 November. Two civilian employees were pinned down as liable for negligence for the plebe’s death.

Telan’s mother Edna admitted that there are letters his son gave to his girlfriend. She said that even before the letter went viral, they already knew that her son was experiencing hazing from the hands of his colleagues. She revealed that her son admitted to her that he was being electrified as she was told by Mario during one of her visits that it is part of their training.

The cadet’s mother said that all they are seeking is for justice be served and those responsible for the death of his son be punished.

Meanwhile, the family of Cadet 4th class Darwin Dormitorio attended the first hearing on 27 November of the criminal charges against those believed to be responsible for Dormitorio’s death due to multiple internal injuries.

Dexter, the elder brother of Darin admitted he felt anger upon seeing the accused. Like Telan, Darwin also wrote letters stating his sufferings from the hazing he has been experiencing inside the academy.
