SIATON POINT, Negros Oriental – Coast Guards rescued four crew members of a drifting barge off Siaton Point, Negros Oriental Thursday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it dispatched its Multi-Role Response Vessel (MRRV) 4406, BRP Suluan after receiving a distress call from the barge that was dragged due to strong currents.

After ensuring that the rescued individuals were all in good physical condition, the PCG personnel towed the troubled barge to the nearest bay for sheltering and repair.

BRP Suluan was conducting its regular maritime patrol when it was alerted about the drifting barge since night of 26 November 2019.
