3 dead as fires hit Olongapo

OLONGAPO CITY — Three people died after fire broke out in separate areas in Olongapo City within two consecutive days.

According to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) — Olongapo City Chapter, they received a call from 143 volunteer Jesusa Berosio regarding a fire incident in Abra Street, Barangay Barretto on the early morning of Thursday (28 November).

PRC-Olongapo said that a 10-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl died from the fire, while a 20-year-old man sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the chapter also received a call from a 143 volunteer regarding a fire incident at a residential area in Fendler Street, Barangay East Tapinac on Wednesday (27 November).

The PRC Olongapo stated that they immediately dispatched ambulances to the said fire incident, noting that 27-year-old male victim Jonel Fernandez died while three other victims sustained minor injuries.
