E-commerce tips and tricks
Sellers must engage and be customer-centric.
ONLINE shopping is expected to grab an even bigger share of consumer budget, taking profit away from brick-and-mortar stores.
In the free-for-all e-commerce which is becoming increasingly customer-centric, online sellers are advised to focus more on ensuring the satisfaction of buyers.
It’s one thing to attract new customers and another thing altogether to keep them for repeat purchases, some of the country’s so-called influencers have said.
Vlogger and entrepreneur Ira Denise Oyco said achieving success in e-commerce lies not just on having good products but also on sellers having the passion and consistency to satisfy their customers.
“My brand Rhipe’s Clothing started with my love for dressing up. I started selling clothes and worked to fulfilling my costumer’s demand,” Oyco said.
“Whenever they ask for something, I make sure to deliver it completely and on time. Of course, I also utilized social media to engage and show them my products,” she added.
Another vlogger, Lou Sanchez, could not agree more. She said that customer satisfaction leads to good feedback, possible repeat purchases and enticing customer loyalty.
“For online retail, you have to present your brand in a way that consumers will love and remember it through its quirkiness,” she said.
Mom and daughter vloggers Haidee and Hazel Quing, on the other hand, noted that businesses gain more traction whenever they meet the demands of customers.
“At first, I was a little skeptical in using social media because I thought it was not cut-out for me. But, when Hazel and I started vlogging, it came to me that I can thrive in social media,” Haidee said.
“They have to know what their target market is, engage the platform correctly, and show how their brand can fulfill their wants and needs,” she added.
For David Guizon, a lifestyle influencer, quality content makes a significant difference in attracting loyal customers.
He noted that through visual and engaging content, customers become more aware of the products and services offered by online retailers.
“I always make sure that I post something meaningful. Social media, as a platform, can be used to engage people. So, I make sure that all the contents I post online are well-crafted and engaging,” added Guizon.
The influences shared their insights during the LF Online Sellers Symposium at the One Canvas in Makati, organized by J&T Express, a top e-commerce delivery company in Southeast Asia.
“We organized this event to help online sellers gain some insights from some of the best influencers, who are experts when it comes to utilizing the online platform,” said J&T Philippines president Dean Ding.
“Through this initiative, we also aim to help set themselves up as mainstays in the online business.”
