Ceres to turn over 8 bus units to NCRPO

Eight of 18 bus units to be lent by Ceres Liner for the duration of the 30th Southeast Asian Games will be turned over to the National Capital Region Police Office on Thursday morning.

One unit will be given each to the Eastern and Southern Police Districts and Aviation Security Group, three to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion and two to the Manila Police District.

NCRPO acting regional director Gen. Debold M. Sinas will receive the buses from the Yanson Group of Bus Companies at 8 a.m. at the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

The remaining units are being used to transport the men’s and women’s football teams.

Ceres Negros-Football Club administrator Nicholas Golez said company owner Leo Rey Yanson is a passionate football fan and his move is expected amid several logistical problems being encountered by organizers.

So far, the men’s football team ended up in a 1-1 draw against Cambodia on Monday and a 1-2 loss to Myanmar on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Football Field in Manila.

Over at Biñan pitch in Laguna, the women’s team settled for a goalless draw with Myanmar on Tuesday.
