Pasay acts on kidnapping reports

The chief of the Pasay City police has been instructed by Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano to look into reports of alleged kidnapping incidents in the city.

Pasay Police chief Col. Bernard Yang was directed by the mayor to look into the reports, as she reminded residents to first report cases to their nearest community police precinct before posting it on social media.

“I am ordering the police to investigate these alleged abductions. We want these resolved immediately to ease the anxiety and uncertainty of their relatives,” Calixto-Rubiano said.

“Let’s be careful and avoid risks by going to the police. The Philippine National Police is on top of the situation, and I am confident that they have the resources and manpower to solve these crimes.” She added.

Social media has been abuzz of teenagers being abducted, particularly within the vicinity of Pasay Rotonda.

Yang said he has already ordered his men to prioritize these abduction cases.

Meanwhile, the mayor also instructed Pasay City Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) chief Dr. Boyet Maranan to be on the alert to make sure SEA Games participants will get the needed assistance in case of an emergency.

She said the DRRM personnel should quickly react to any eventuality in the different sports venues in Pasay City.
