Heart Evangelista is into jewelry as much as she is into paintings. So, it is not surprising that The Modern Muse collection, her latest collaboration with jewelry brand Royal Gem, features her 2018 Full Bloom Collection paintings.

Modern Muse comes in two collections: Cameo and Italian Gold.

The Cameo pendants feature Heart’s paintings on carefully selected hand-carved Queen Helmet conch shells.

Italian Gold, on the other hand, features her artworks set on fine enamel jewelry and outlined with Italian Gold. Pendants from the collection also can be used in bracelets or necklaces, and can be worn as is or simply layered together.

THE pieces complement Heart’s beautiful face and svelte body.

“I wanted to choose the images with women because it can also be very relatable. It can be compared to a certain image you feel you can connect and relate to,” Heart said.

Each piece aims to represent and celebrate with every woman in whichever part of their journey they may be now. “It’s the everyday women that you see. Everywhere you go. Everybody is very modern now, but still very traditional. I wanted to dedicate it to all the women because I want everyone to relate to it,” she said.

Heart has already had her artworks featured on clothing, lipsticks and bags but putting them on jewelry is a bit more personal.

“There’s one in this collection that I made into a teardrop shape, like tears of joy. That painting is really special — it’s actually one of my smallest ones. I was going through a lot of depression and anxiety but that particular painting has a lot of color so it kind of says how I’m hopeful and a very happy person despite my circumstance. I also wanted it to be basic because not everybody is confident to put everything together so it’s a process how you’re comfortable,” Heart admits.

The whole collaboration process was mostly done virtually through casual exchanges between Heart and Royal Gem owners for almost half a year. She was very hands-on with the whole creative process, personally looking into each piece to ensure each is up to her quality and style standards.

“It’s all about what connects with you and what you would wear everyday. Or something that you feel that you would blend in. So whether it’s expensive or not, it’s just how you wear it and how it makes you feel,” she said.

Seeing empowered women wearing The Modern Muse collection warms her Heart. “I’m so kilig (thrilled), I feel they share the same motivation with me. I feel honored that they’re wearing a piece of me.”
