President Rodrigo Duterte wished all Filipino athletes competing in the 30th Southeast Asian Games good luck on Saturday night.

“I wish them all the luck and my fervent prayers goes with it,” Duterre said during the dedication of his great grandson Rodrigo Duterte III at the Dusit Thani Residence Davao in Davao City.

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and Presidential Spokesperson Salvador S. Panelo, also wished the Filipino athletes good luck as they compete to achieve greatness.

“We wish all the participating athletes good luck and look forward to their excellent and hopefully world record breaking performances!” Panelo said.

The 2019 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 30th Southeast Asian Games or 2019 SEA Games is a biennial regional multi-sport event which will be hosted by the Philippines from 30 November to 11 December 2019.

An estimated 9,840 athletes are expected to compete in the games with the main venues to be held at the Philippine Arena and New Clark City Athletics Stadium.
