Peugeot unveils another SUV

Similar to the Peugeot 3008 Active Petrol SUV, this new brute likewise enjoys a more attractive pricing, making it poised to better compete with the local competition.

As the year draws closer to its final curtain call, French marque Peugeot took on the offensive move, particularly continuing its onslaught in the SUV segment in the country. The recent launch of the 2020 Peugeot 5008 Allure seven-seater SUV is one sheer proof. This introduction came after its successful unveiling of the 3008 Active Petrol SUV just several weeks ago. Putting premium on upgraded driving, safety and accessibility features, this new offering promises to take the Filipino driving experience to the next level.

“Over the past year, Peugeot Philippines has seen tremendous success with the launch of new products, enhanced services and an ambitious corporate social responsibility program. These are but testaments to the commitment we have to the brand,” Peugeot Philippines sales director, Dodie Gañac said.

“The strategy remains the same,” he continued. “That is to be the premium brand of choice for today’s modern Filipino customers. We are excited to bring in more products in the future that will further bring us to the consumer’s top of mind, while providing that unique French experience that Peugeot is well-known for.”

Upon close inspection of the vehicle, subtle changes in the exterior and interior features can be noted. For one, new 18” Detroit alloy wheels further enhance the vehicle’s current swagger, giving its athletic stance a more robust look than its predecessor. Inside, both driver and passengers are greeted with full Claudia leather seats and a panoramic sunroof with ambient LED lighting that adds a premium touch to the cabin space. Not to mention Peugeot’s signature iCockpit experience.

It further prides itself with an array of new technologies. The Peugeot 5008 SUV has developed a number of amenities inside the car for that next level approach in in-cabin driving and comfort.

The brand’s full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) debut its highly developed technology in the new model. This includes an active blind spot detection system, advanced driver attention alerts, lane keeping assistance, and a speed limiter and cruise control feature with intelligent speed adaptation. For added convenience, an electronic tailgate with foot sensor is also provided.

This front wheeler is powered by a 1.6L THP petrol engine with Euro4 direct exchanger turbo injection that packs 165 hp at 6,000 rpm and 240 N-m of torque at 1,400 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed Efficient Automatic Transmission (EAT6).

“At this price point, the 2020 Peuegot 5008 SUV has the best combination of premium features and impressive technologies in a vehicle available in the market today,” Gañac added.
