Pinay on target in Macau Open

Atenean Andrea Robles made the country proud recently as she topped the 2019 Macau Indoor Archery Open held recently.

The youthful 21-year-old pulled off a huge shocker against pre-tournament favorite Sarah Prieels of Belgium in the semifinals before downing Paige Pearce of the United States in the final to win the gold.

The archer, who graduated from Ateneo this year, also defeated China’s Xu Lumeng and Australia’s Natalie Duncan before her huge victories against Prieels and Pearce.

“Incredibly grateful to everyone who have always been there to support me, most especially my parents,” said Robles. “This is for you.”

The championship in Macau gave her a huge boost ahead of her stint in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games the Philippines is hosting from 30 November to 11 December this year.
