Malacañang declares 2020 holidays

The observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha shall be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic or lunar calendar or upon Islamic astronomical calculations. #2020holidays

Malacañang has issued Proclamation No. 845 declaring 10 regular and 9 special holidays in 2020.

The regular holidays are New Year’s Day on 1 January, Araw ng Kagitingan and Maundy Thursday on 9 April, Good Friday on 10 April, Labor Day on 1 May, Independence Day on 12 June, National Heroes’ Day on 31 August, Bonifacio Day on 30 November, Christmas Day on 25 December and Rizal Day on 30 December.

The special holidays are Chinese New Year on 25 January, EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary on 25 February, Black Saturday on 11 April, Ninoy Aquino Day on 21 August, All Saints’ Day on 1 November, Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary on 8 December, Last Day of the Year on 31 December, and the additional non-working days on 2 November and 24 December.

The national holidays for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha shall be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic or lunar calendar or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient. The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos shall inform the Office of the President on the actual dates on which these holidays shall fall.
