The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is temporarily halting the acceptance of applications for medical financial assistance beginning Thursday, 14 November 2019.

The gaming regulator made the move after a couple attempted to defraud the agency by submitting spurious documents for fictitious medical cases.

The suspects were arrested by Manila Police District operatives in an entrapment operation and are now facing charges of falsification of public documents by a private individual and use of false certificates.

The suspension of medical financial assistance will last until the results of an on-going investigation of the fraud, PAGCOR said.

The agency, likewise, warned those who plan to defraud the agency that it meticulously evaluates documents submitted by applicants for financial assistance.
