Pseudo-advocates of rights who have no business in the country but to take potshots at the war on drugs to bring in the money from European donors who are suckers for anything against President Rody Duterte should never be allowed to step in the country.

While Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard has a conditional entry pass into the country as a tourist, loudmouth Phelim Kine should not be allowed to step an inch anywhere in the country.

Kine is the epitome of an interloper who has no intent other than to keep up his profile as a rights champion for personal gains.

The former deputy director of Human Rights Watch’s Asia is raring to go to the country after President Leni Robredo accepted the post as Rody’s anti-drugs czarina “to provide or give recommendations” to halt the “murderous drug war” in the country.

There is no hope of an objective view from Kine, but instead he would spew his propaganda from the Philippines likely exploiting his “advisory” post to the hilt in pushing his own agenda, which is in line with the yellow mob’s bid to oust Rody.

He wanted more, which is to have Rody arrested and placed behind bars.

There was no mollifying Kine when it comes to demonizing Rody.

After the filing of murder charges against three police officers for the alleged summary execution of 17-year-old Kian delos Santos during an anti-drug operation in 2017, he called the government action “a rare instance.”

He then said it was rare that the Philippine justice system “has taken genuine steps to prosecute anyone for killing suspected drug users and dealers during President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs, launched in June 2016.”

The rigid view that Kine has on the administration of Rody is that accountability for drug war killings “has been hobbled by the refusal of the PNP and the Philippine government to allow for an independent inquiry of those deaths” and that most of the current officials “whitewash the anti-drug campaign as lawful and rights-respecting.”

The pseudo-rights champion also uses the 27,000 death tally that coup plotter Antonio Trillanes IV propagated in his destabilization efforts, as well as being the leading voice in the call to unconditionally free drugs trafficking suspect Sen. Leila de Lima.

De Lima “challenged the lawfulness of Duterte’s drug war” and is under detention “on politically motivated drugs charges” is his usual claim.

Among the more ridiculous claims of Kine against Rody was that there is “a growing list of institutions and people — including United Nations (UN) officials — targeted for harassment and intimidation for demanding accountability for abuses linked to the drug war.”

More outrageous is his statement that “hostility to accountability underscores the need for a UN-led international investigation of the killings to help expose the extent of the abuses and to determine possible targets for a criminal investigation, including possible prosecutions for crimes against humanity.”

The presence of Kine in the country would also encourage the horde of meddlers that subscribe to his bigotry to take the first plane into the country and apply as Robredo’s adviser.

It would be a challenge for Robredo to deny hangers on from putting in their venomous views on Rody and his anti-narcotics campaign as the yellow mob feels to have been rejuvenated with her pivotal government post.

The effort of keeping the detractors of Rody from dictating her moves may even be tasking than making her public health approach on the drugs problem work.

The Vice President has been given free rein to run the anti-drug campaign and the biggest mistake that she can make is to let the usual detractors run it for her.
