How do you like your coffee?
Before he “discovered” Nespresso, Nico would never have any problems preparing food but always left coffee-making to the pros.
Dark, milky or creamy? But definitely freshly brewed and freshly off the machine, yes? Even more impressive if you make it yourself, and though it may be your first time to make a cup of coffee, you end up with a perfect looking latte or Cappuccino that tastes as good as it looks? The right temperature, creamy froth, layers of lovely coffee showing up on the glass wall of your coffee cup…
Nico Bolzico, the man of gorgeous lady Solenn Heussaff’s dreams, was able to pull one off, and nobody noticed that it was his first time to make Cappuccino in his entire life, when he recently faced the media at the Nespresso Boutique, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City. After all, he had already given a preview of his “coffee-making skills” in a video which he posted on his Instagram account. While he showed off his comedic flair with witty side comments, as always, he successfully projected dead-serious barista skills, and nobody was able to tell the difference. He pulled it off with the help of a simple-to-operate but professional-looking Nespresso machine.
“Solenn is very impressed — with Nespresso, not with me,” says Nico, who still could not believe he is now able to whip up different barista-style coffee for himself, Solenn, family and friends in just a matter of minutes. He just pushes buttons, and out comes beautifully crafted coffee.
Before he “discovered” Nespresso, Nico would never have any problems preparing food but always left coffee-making to the pros, getting his daily caffeine fix from cafés or coffee shops. But when he got himself a Nespresso machine, he confidently whipped up cup upon cup of good coffee with his new-found buddy.

“Now, making my own cup of coffee is faster, more convenient. It’s perfect for busy days, which I just never seem to run out of,” Nico says.
On the day he met the press and played professional barista to everyone, he showed off his coffee-making moves with the Nespresso machine and created perfectly crafted milk and coffee recipes.
He effortlessly produced three Barista Creations flavors — Chiaro (which means “light” in Italian), Scuro (meaning “dark”) and Corto (meaning “short”) — for all guests to enjoy.
Nico also let everyone taste his own coffee concoction using Nespresso Corto, one of the new flavors from the Nespresso Barista Creations. Into the coffee, he mixed milk and maple syrup, turning out a unique and flavorful coffee concoction that he is truly proud of. He called it The Bolziccino.

He did not have a lot of convincing to do, it seemed, for everyone who got a taste of it actually liked Nico own recipe.
Back to the Nespresso Barista Creations that he whipped up for the guests — Chiaro, Scuro and Corto — they make up Nespresso’s new permanent coffee range that enables coffee lovers to go beyond black coffee and be their own barista. The range caters to different taste profiles, so that coffee lovers will surely find one that best suits their taste.
With inspiration coming from Brooklyn baristas, Chiaro was created for smooth and sweet coffee and milk recipes. To make a perfect cup of mild Cappuccino, milk is simply added, and notes of caramel and biscuit naturally come out.
Scuro, meanwhile, was inspired by Melbourne baristas. It has the perfect balance between milk and roasted coffee notes. So if you add milk into it, it remains intense and roasted and comes off as a lovely strong Cappuccino.
But if it’s a traditional Spanish Cortado you want, which is equal amounts of coffee and warm milk, go for Corto, which is inspired by — yes, you got it! — Spanish baristas. This flavor has a powerful taste and syrupy texture great for recipes with just a little touch of milk. It has a very dark, spicy, intense roasted and smoky flavor profile.
