Go: Leni Cabinet meet invite still unsure

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Wednesday revealed that President Rodrigo Duterte has not yet given any indication that Vice President Leni Robredo will be invited to the Palace to attend the Cabinet meeting.

In a statement, Go said that there is a possibility that Robredo could be invited if the agenda during the Cabinet meeting is related to illegal drugs but stressed that he is fully supportive of the Vice President in order for her to succeed as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs or ICAD.

“There is only one objective here and that is to suppress illegal drugs,” Go said.

The senator noted that 82 percent of Filipinos are fully supportive of Duterte’s management to suppress illegal drugs and with Robredo at the helm, the number may reach 90 percent or even at 100 percent.

He said that they will help the Vice President in her own campaign against illegal drugs because the interest of most Filipinos is at stake here and that is to prevent more innocent people from getting victimized by illegal drugs.

Go also addressed naysayers, stressing that all they have to do is to talk with Overseas Filipinos Workers (OFW) if they have peace of mind leaving their children behind as they work abroad to earn money.

Go reiterated that most of the crimes taking place are cause by illegal drugs.
