Briefs: 7-Eleven Mindoro expansion

In line with its aggressive expansion program in Mindoro, 7-Eleven recently opened its 5th store at the Calapan Market, Juan Luna Street in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The new branch now serves the 24/7 buying needs of the residential and transit consumers in the area. Same with other 7-Eleven stores, the Calapan Market outlet also offers a wide array of product selections and value for money to customers. The four other 7-Eleven branches in Oriental Mindoro are located in JP Rizal Avenue, Calapan City; Sabang Puerto Galera; Victoria Highway; and Pinamalayan Highway. The company is also planning to open five more stores in Mindoro, expecting a total of 10 outlets by year-end. These stores will be located in Puerto Galera Town, Gloria, Bansud, Bongabon and Naujan. Expansion in Occidental Mindoro is also expected to unfold soon. To date, 7-Eleven has 2,752 branches nationwide, 54 percent are franchise outlets and 46 percent are corporate stores. For potential franchise partners, 7-Eleven offers flexible options: Regular New Store Franchise (open a new 7-Eleven store) or Property Conversion (convert an established business or properties into a 7-Eleven franchise).

Globe and ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. have joined forces to advocate for the health and safety of all Filipino children by offering toll free calls to Bantay Bata #163 helpline for all Globe and TM mobile phone users beginning 18 November 2019.

Through the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement, the two parties will be able to strengthen the efforts of Bantay Bata in protecting disadvantaged and at-risk children through a nationwide network of social services such rescue and rehabilitation, training and advocacy on child abuse prevention, rehabilitation of families in crisis, educational scholarships, community outreach and medical and dental missions.

By making Bantay Bata #163 toll-free for all Globe and TM Customers, it will become easier and safer to report, rescue and rehabilitate sick and abused children. Dialing the helpline also means hope for Filipino children and their families who are suffering in silence due to child abuse.

Currently, children and youth in the Philippines continue to face huge challenges. According to last year’s report on the Situation Analysis of Children in the Philippines, two in three children experienced physical violence, two in five from psychological violence, one in four from sexual violence, and two in three from peer violence. Worse, violence against children often takes place at home.

HP Inc. Philippines and Go Negosyo, a local non-profit organization, have announced plans to collaborate over the next 12 months to drive the adoption of digital technology across the Philippines.
