Fiery death no thanks to school affair

A student from Davao City died while preparing for a school pageant after her costume caught fire.

Calinan town firefighters said the grade 7 student was killed after the candle used in attaching a fiber to her abaca costume set the dress on fire, burning 84 percent of her body.

Authorities are still investigating the incident while her school is yet to issue a statement.
