‘Quiel’ exits PAR

The weather bureau PAGASA said in its early Saturday bulletin that the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The weather conditions are due to the tail end of a cold front that will affect northern Luzon all day Saturday, even as the rest of the country will have cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms.

Typhoon Quiel was estimated at 560 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan as of 3 a.m. It displayed maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph, moving westward slowly.

It exited the Philippine area of responsibility by 5 a.m.
