DFA: No Pinoys hurt in Iran quake

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday announced that there were no reports of Filipinos among those affected by the magnitude 5.9 earthquake that Iran early morning of 8 November.

The DFA, in a statement, said that it has contacted the Filipino community in Tabriz City through the Philippine Embassy in Tehran to ascertain the safety and situation of around 32 Filipino nationals residing in the area.

The Foreign Affairs department said that it will continue to monitor the aftermath of the earthquake that struck the East Azerbaijan province in Iran, adding that it will be ready to provide assistance to any affected Filipinos.
