VP accepts drug czar job

Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday said she is accepting President Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to lead the government’s campaign against illegal drugs until the end of his term.

“If this is the opportunity for the killing of innocent to stop and hold accountable those who are accountable, I will bear it. So I am accepting the job being given to me by the President,” said Robredo in a speech posted on the Facebook page of the Office of the Vice President.

Robredo added that she will do the job even if the agencies will not cooperate or try to make her fail.

The Vice President said she wants the campaign against illegal drugs to be proper from the start with the killing of innocent suspects to stop and abusive officials to be held liable such as the “ninja cops” and those who allowed the smuggling of tons of shabu into the country.

She also said she wants families of innocent slain drug suspects be given a voice and big drug lords to be captured.
