5.5-magnitude quake rattles Quezon

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake rocked Quezon province early Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The 4:52 a.m. temblor’s epicenter is 42 kilometers northeast of Jomalig town at a depth of 7 kilometers.

Intensity 4 was felt in Guinayangan, Quezon. Intensity 2 was reported in Marikina City, Navotas City, and Quezon City while intensity I was recorded in Muntinlupa City.

Phivolcs is not expecting damages but says aftershocks may occur.
