The Vivo NEX 3 is one of the few real bezel-less mobile phones in the market today boasting of a waterfall display that is met by a curved backing. It stands above the rest as it makes do without any power or volume control buttons on the side.

Another feature that is, however, more evolutionary than revolutionary is the pop-up camera on top. There’s a front-facing flash in that pop-up for those selfie moments when there’s just too little light to get a proper exposure.

In place of the power and volume buttons on the side are pressure-sensitive zones located at the right edge which provide haptic-feedback which Vivo calls “Touch Sense.”

It takes awhile to get accustomed to the virtual controls but that should not scare those who are considering to purchase the phone.

The P-OLED display curves by 88-degrees on the sides, allowing it a screen-to-body ratio of 99.6 percent — great for watching videos or playing games as the experience is truly immersive as there’s no bezel to frame the images.

Likewise, the 800 nits of maximum brightness and the OLED display allow the Vivo NEX 3 to produce punchy colors and high-contrast videos or pictures, without sacrificing the deepness of its black level.

Powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 855+ chipset and UFS 3.0 storage, the NEX 3 opens apps and transfers files very fast and does so without getting hot even during extended 3D gaming, thanks to an air exchange system which would be the equivalent of radiators in cars.

The curved sides may initially make the NEX 3 difficult to hold for new users but it doesn’t take long to get accustomed to. So is the Vivo NEX 3 for you. There’s only one way to find out and that is to head to a nearby seller and handle one.
