3 BARMM cops dismissed

Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge PLt. Gen. Archie Gamboa on Monday handed down the dismissal order of three policemen recently arrested in a drug buy bust operation in Parang, Maguindanao.

Gamboa disclosed that he has already directed Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Regional Director PBGen. Marni Marcos to immediately carry out summary dismissal proceedings against the erring cops he identified as Patrolman Sandiali Mangundacan Manalao, Staff Sgt. Fahmi Bangon Como, and Master Sgt. Monjel Nassal Aradais “within 15 days.”

The three were collared by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) last 30 October.

Their immediate superior, Capt. Sainodon Benasing, meanwhile, has been relieved from his post and will also face an investigation.

“I would like to emphasize that the PNP internal cleansing program that we are implementing will be swift, decisive, and uncompromising especially against personnel involved in illegal drugs,” Gamboa said in a press briefing in Camp Crame.

“It is unfortunate that this case of drug-trafficking PNP members happened on the same day that another had to offer the supreme sacrifice in an encounter with one of the most wanted persons in Lanao del Sur,” he added.
