More students enjoy free MRT-3 rides

Students have greatly benefited from the free rides offered by the Department of Transportation (DoTr) for the MRT-3 since it was first implemented on 1 July 2019.

To date, a total of 150,882 students have availed of the privilege.

The Student Free Ride Program is offered from 5 to 6:30 a.m. and from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, except on holidays and when classes have been suspended throughout Metro Manila.

The program aims to give students an incentive in their studies. In fact, students from preschool to college, including those enrolled in technical and vocational schools, can avail of the free service.

Students can ride on the MRT-3 for free just by presenting their school ID or registration form to the station personnel or security guard.

Likewise, they are also enjoined to apply for a Student Free Ride ID, which they can do so online. Just go to tinyurl.com/y66f8nr4 and fill up the form.

They can also personally apply at the Malasakit Help Desk at any MRT-3 station. They only need to bring their ID or registration form and a 2×2 ID picture.
