Tribal antics

Halloween a-la Tribune took on a slant this year with the editors, reporters and staff choosing not necessarily spooky characters, although a few went all out as witches and ghosts. What was obvious, whether they came as a priest, an airforce pilot, a fireman, was everyone exerted an effort in keeping with the spirit of the day — which falls between the spiritual, fantastic and, of course, haunting.

Creative is the word to use to describe us, although some got by being close to their natural selves. While a few dug out old outfits refitted to symbolize a character here or there, many came out with something new, some with the help of family members acting as occasional seamstresses, others making do with their personal cut-and-sew skills.

No less than the publisher Willie Fernandez and the editor-in-chief Chingbee acted as judges and, of course, donor of prize and host of the feast.
