Fr. Bernas rushed to hospital

Fr. Bernas was a member of the 1986 Constitutional Commission which drafted the present Philippine Constitution.

Mel Sta. Maria, dean of the Institute of Law at Far Eastern University, reported the hospitalization of the 87-year-old Catholic priest’s in a Facebook post.

Sta. Maria requested for prayers for Bernas who is also a patriot, constitutionalist, lawyer, professor, dean, author and former columnist. He authored the book “The 1987 Philippine Constitution, A living constitution.”

Bernas is Dean Emeritus of the Ateneo Law School in Makati City and was a member of the 1986 Constitutional Commission which drafted the present Philippine Constitution.
