After 2 quakes, conjoined twins born

COTABATO CITY — After the first two of four earthquakes rocked Mindanao this week, Maguindanao health chief Dr. Elizabeth Samama confirmed Friday the birth via cesarean section of the province’s first-ever conjoined twins on the night of 28 October 2019 in Rajah Buayan town.

The female twins with two heads in one body are now under the care of the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital in Sharif Aguak town of the same province. Local health officials in the have referred the case to modern hospitals in Davao City and Manila

Samama said they are currently referring the case to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City and the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila.

“The SPMC and PGH have modern facilities and specialists to attend to such cases,” Samama said.

Samama had also appealed to both charitable institutions and to the public to help assist the babies who are from a poor family.

Samama said the twins remain in stable condition as of this posting.
