Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea has been designated by President Rodrigo Duterte as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Executive Branch while he is in Bangkok, Thailand for an Official Visit to participate in the 35th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.

The Chief Executive is set to leave the country on Friday, 1 November.

In Special Order 1182, Medialdea will be OIC from 1 to 4 November 2019 to ensure continuity of government service.

The President said the Executive Secretary’s interim post mandates him to take care of the day-to-day operations in the Office of the President and to oversee the general administration of the Executive Department.

He shall, if necessary, also act for and on behalf of the President, except on matters that the President is required by the Constitution to act in person, during the time that the President is outside the Republic of the Philippines from 1 to 4 November 2019.
