Not your usual love story

“CARAXJAGGER” marks their first leading role in a mainstream movie.

While CaraxJagger marks the first time that Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Ruru Madrid work together on a project, the two have a lot to say about each other’s professionalism on set.

“I have seen Jasmine’s love for her craft and for me that’s very important. If you wish to last long in this industry, you have to be very passionate with your work which is what I saw in her,” Ruru said.

On the other hand, Jasmine was left in awe of Ruru’s willingness to learn outside of acting workshops.

“He’s very hardworking and I know he doesn’t say no most of the time. When direk Ice (Idanan) gives him instructions for a retake, he works on it diligently. They discuss it together. I think that’s why he felt the same from me because that is something that I always make sure to do when I work. He wants to learn from the people on set as well,” she averred.

Months ago, Jasmine was announced as one of the leads of the highly anticipated Filipino adaptation of Descendants of the Sun alongside Roco Nacino, Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado.

She made her debut in show business in 2010 and has starred in numerous films including Dementia, Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, Baka Bukas and Maledicto, first Filipino film produced by FOX. Jasmine also appeared in GMA’s successful series, Pamilya Roces.

Ruru and Jasmine both consider CaraxJagger as a milestone of their careers. “It’s a very different kind of love story,” Jasmine said. “The movie is character-centric and though the conflict between Cara and Jagger is quite unusual, their story still represents what love is all about which is loving someone unconditionally and moving on no matter how painful a relationship has become.”

She further gushes how excited she is and how she will never forget her experience filming APT Entertainment’s first mainstream film. “It’s nice to see how close we are to the big reveal of it,” she said.

CaraxJagger also stars Dante Rivero, Dino Pastrano, Gabby Padilla, Miko Raval, Kenneth Medrano, Michelle Dee and Sophie Albert. It will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting 6 November.
