LPA spotted inside PAR

Weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Saturday revealed that it was monitoring a new low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

In a statement, weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said that the weather system was spotted 940 kilometers east-southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 5 a.m. and while the LPA is unlikely to become a tropical cyclone, it will bring scattered rains in the eastern parts of Bicol Region, the Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan will trigger isolated rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley, while generally fair weather is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
