China forum features PH coral conservation

The SPC worked in the coral conservations in Boracay, Camiguin Island, Antique, Bohol and Zamboanga.

The forum will be held in Hanyo Resort and Spa Hotel at the Yalong Bay National Resort District of Sanya.

BORACAY, Aklan- The success of the Philippines’ effort to conserve dwindling corals will be featured in a forum of non-government organizations (NGO) in China on 28-31 October this year.

Jojo Rodriguez, vice chairman of the Sangkalikasan Producers Cooperative (SPC), said he will be talking about their initiatives in the 2019 Ocean NGO Forum to be held in Hanyo Resort and Spa Hotel at the Yalong Bay National Resort District of Sanya.

“I will be presenting how we are able to conserve one million corals all over the Philippines. We are also committed another one million corals,” Rodriguez said.

For several years, the SPC worked in the coral conservations in Boracay, Camiguin Island, Antique, Bohol, Zamboanga among others. The Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources supported the work.
