A United States-based manufacturer of air purifier systems is targeting P58 million in revenues in its first full year of operations in the Philippine market.

Air Intellipure Inc. is banking on the growing concern on air pollution, particularly in the Philippines, as it introduces a patented air purification technology it claims can eliminate and protect against 98 to 100 percent of viruses, bacteria and other irritants in indoor spaces.

Air Intellipure is investing P250 million over the next three years for the roll-out of its products. The company, which officially launched its products on Tuesday in Makati, said it also looks to introduce its systems in Cebu and Davao aside from Metro Manila.

Company founder Nick Gitsis said for its initial operations here, Air Intellipure plans to introduce the Pure Wellness Program to government institutions, hospitals, as well as the growing $1.63 billion local hotel industry.

Under the program, the company installs air purification, water filtration and surface treatment solutions in indoor spaces. Air Intellipure is partnering with Belo Clinics for the establishment of the first certified Pure Wellness Clinics in Asia opening in the Bonifacio Global City in November.

Aside from the program, Air Intellipure also manufactures compact and portable Intellipure machines for residential and commercial space use which will be sold at a price range of P47,000 to P89,000.

“Our pioneering service is projected to bring exponential growth to the company over the next year. Along with our Intellipure air purification system sales, we’re targeting revenues of P58 million by next year with substantial growth by 2021,” Gitsis said.

According to the company, the global wellness economy was valued at $4.2 trillion as of 2017, an increase of 6.4 percent from its value in 2015.

As air pollution serves as a major threat to human health according to the World Health Organization, Air Intellipure said the air purification market in the Asia-Pacific alone could grow nine percent annually from its current value of $7.6 million.

A 2018 report by World Health Organization noted that in the Philippines alone, 100,000 people have died due to outdoor air pollution, marking it as the third top country globally with the most deaths linked to the cause.
