BDO top man feted

Acknowledging his effort in transforming BDO Unibank into one of the biggest and most valuable banks in the country, the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) hailed veteran banker Nestor Tan as 2019’s “Management Man of the Year.”

MAP said it has chosen Tan for steering BDO from a niche player to a full-service universal bank, which is now being consistently ranked by the global financial community as among the best-managed banks in the Philippines.

It also cited his “leadership role in the substantial contributions of the BDO Group to national development through job creation and income generation.”

The prestigious award is given to individuals in the business community or government who distinguish themselves in the practice of management and contribute to progress.
