Thomasians rule 2019 CPA Licensure Exam

Six graduates of University of Sto. Tomas (UST) landed in the top ten of the 2019 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination (CPALE), the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) announced Monday.

Justine Louie Santiago, Mark Angelo Santos, Bill Julius Ocampo, Alyssa Nicole Rosario, Lovel Dulay and Jhuge Salaya were among the examinees who garnered the highest score in the series of examinations which took place in cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao on 5, 6 and 12 October.

Santiago emerged as the batch valedictorian with a 90.33 passing rate, followed by Marlou Alinsonorin of the University of San Carlos who garnered 89.67 percent and Christian Lawrence Go of De La Salle University-Manila with 89.50 percent.

The University of the Philippines-Diliman, meanwhile, was hailed as the top-performing school with 84.21 passing rate.

Only 14.32 percent or 2,075 out of 14,492 examinees passed the licensure exam.
