Sen. Bong Go’s son among CPA topnotchers

The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree as the saying goes.

In the case of Christian Lawrence Go, the son of Senator Bong Go, years of perseverance, hard work and dedication to his studies have paid off handsomely.

The senator’s namesake, to the delight of the lawmaker who had dutifully served President Rodrigo Duterte with the later as Davao City mayor and later on as President, was among the top notchers in this year’s Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examinations.

Graduating summa cum laude and as a gold medalist and member of the Jose Rizal Honors Society of De La Salle University in Manila, Christian Lawrence garnered a score of 89.50 percent.

Overall, Senator Bong Go’s son secured the third-highest spot in the licensure examinations.

The results of the examinations were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) online, including the names of official board passers, school performance, and the list of the top notchers.

A total of 2,075 out of 14,492 takers passed the CPA exams administered by the PRC Board of Accountancy at testing centers in Manila, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, and Tuguegarao.
